Shades of Grey + Ruching

When:  In the colder spring days,  since I am not quite ready to bring out the colors from my closet.

Ruching
What is ruching?  It is your friend, as it truly hides where that last Monte Cristo sandwich went after you decided to skip Pilates class and Hot Yoga.  I'm kidding, but you know what I mean when you feel a little rounder along the edges.  Typically ruching is a gathering of fabric in an arranged fashion that adds detail to a garment.  It aids in disguising the extra fluff around the middle region that tends to have a mind of its own.  Because the gathers in ruching tend to create a distraction they allow the eye to follow a path to a focal point that is more flattering.  A sort of trick for other people's eyes if you will.  So the next time you are in a store browsing for a dress or top and see that odd gathered mess on a hanger, try it on and you might just have a winner:)
